The Detail Crew was founded in Los Angeles in 2025. We will be honest about that — we are a new LA company, not a 20 year legacy operation. But the reason we exist is because after decades of working in and around the LA cleaning industry, our founding team saw a market full of two extremes: overpriced boutique services that charged luxury rates for mediocre work, and cheap discount operations that treated cleaners as disposable labor and clients as customers to upsell. There was almost nothing in the middle — no company offering genuinely fair pricing with genuinely high standards, paying cleaners real wages with real accountability.
We started The Detail Crew to be the middle. Flat-rate, transparent pricing published on our pricing page. W-2 employees instead of 1099 gig contractors. Full liability insurance and workers compensation. A satisfaction guarantee we actually honor. Eco-friendly products as default, not a $15 upgrade. HEPA vacuums because LA air quality demands it. Same cleaner every visit whenever possible because continuity is how good work actually happens.
Our first year has been about proving this model works. We launched in early 2025 with a small team and a simple promise: the quality of service will match what we charge, and we will stand behind every clean. That promise has scaled as we have. By mid-2026, we serve clients across all of Greater LA from Malibu to Pasadena, we have dedicated Airbnb turnover routes through the Westside, and we have added certified post-wildfire smoke remediation after the Palisades and Eaton fire events. Every new service line extends the same core commitment — do the work right, charge fairly, treat everyone well.
Being new has actually been an advantage. We built our systems from scratch in 2025, which means our booking platform is modern, our scheduling is algorithmic, our training program is documented rather than tribal, and our quality control is systematic rather than vibes-based. Legacy companies often cannot retrofit these standards. We did not have to.

The LA cleaning market has thousands of providers, and most of them look the same from the outside. Here is where we actually differ, in ways that matter to the quality of the work and the experience of booking it.
Pricing is flat-rate and published. Go to our pricing page. The numbers you see are the numbers you pay. A two-bedroom biweekly is $155. Period. No quote gymnastics based on your ZIP code, no dynamic pricing that inflates during busy seasons, no surprise add-ons introduced when the cleaner arrives at your door. This alone puts us in a small minority of LA cleaning companies.
Every cleaner is a W-2 employee. The LA cleaning industry runs heavily on 1099 contractors because it is cheaper to operate that way. But 1099 contractors are not technically your employee, which means there is no workers compensation if they are injured in your home, no employer-of-record accountability, and typically no consistent training. When a 1099-based company tells you they are insured, they usually mean they carry a general liability policy that does not extend to the contractors doing your work. We do not use 1099 contractors. Our team is on our payroll, covered by our insurance, trained on our protocols.
Eco-friendly is the default. Most LA cleaning services offer eco-friendly products as an upgrade — a $10 or $20 add-on per clean. We do not. Plant-based, non-toxic, kid-safe, pet-safe products are what we use by default on every clean, at no additional cost. LA has a lot of households with kids, pets, allergies, and chemical sensitivities. Charging extra for products that do not poison your family feels wrong, so we do not.
Local specialty expertise. Post-wildfire smoke remediation is a certified specialty we added after the 2025 Palisades and Eaton fire events. We have worked with dozens of LA families on smoke remediation, coordinated with insurance adjusters, and published research on our blog about proper remediation protocols. Most generic cleaning companies cannot do this work, and the ones who say they can usually lack the equipment. HEPA air scrubbers, hydroxyl generators, and thermal foggers are not consumer gear.
Consistency and accountability. You get the same cleaning team whenever possible. Your team learns your home, your preferences, and your priorities. When something goes wrong — and occasionally it will, because humans do this work — you have a direct contact on our operations team who owns the issue until it is resolved. This is not one-off. Wildfire events are now a regular part of LA life, and we treat post-fire remediation as core to serving this community.
Supporting local labor. Cleaning is skilled, physically demanding work, and we believe it should pay accordingly. Our cleaners earn living wages, with workers compensation, paid time off, and benefits. We hire from across LA, we train comprehensively, and we promote from within whenever possible. The gig economy has been brutal to service workers, and we reject that model.
